MOON WATER
The moon is a powerful ally in our lives. Twice a month it gives us an extra boost of energy – and occasionally that is heightened by a special transit, such as an eclipse.
One way to “capture” the moon’s energy is to make moon water.
MAKING MOON WATER is easy and once it is made, has many uses.
Keep moon water on your altar, to bring its energy to your meditations and further increase its potency
Open the jar during those meditations where you want it to be even more present.
Some additional uses for moon water include
use where water is called for rituals, use it in blessings and to clearings, dab a bit on your 3rd eye to help open and expand awareness, anoint crystals of other items, flick from your fingers in the four directions to reinforce boundaries, splash a bit in your bath when you feel you need extra clearing, support and guidance…
INGREDIENTS:
* glass (or non-plastic) vessel with lid or seal of some kind
* filtered water
* OPTIONAL: salt, crystals, herb
TO MAKE:
1) Fill your glass vessel with filtered water on the eve of the full moon.
OPTIONAL:
include a small piece of quartz or other crystal – such as amethyst, rose quartz, or Moonstone, into the jar.
2) Hold your vessel close to your heart, sending focused love, light & gratitude into the water.
3) Place your jar outside or in a windowsill with maximum moon exposure.
4) OPTIONAL:
Surround your vessel with the herbs and gemstones of your choice.
And/or rest it on a bed of salt.
5) Allow your water to charge with the energies of the full moon overnight.
6) Gather your vessel the morning after charging, thanking La Luna for her blessings.
As we move into the holidays
and begin the transition towards the new year
… a period of closure and “new beginnings” within the ever-unfolding cycle of death & rebirth…
We must consciously remind ourselves that, even in the best of years, this is always an exhausting, emotionally charged time that brings many challenges.
This year, of course, we add to this
the pre-existing physical & emotional exhaustion, worry, anxiety, stress, fear…
that the pandemic, and the economic, social & political climates have helped to create
in a way we’ve not experienced before, particularly in the United States.
One of the best tools we can use during this time is writing/journaling.
This,
along with intentional disengagement from the outside world,
is tremendously beneficial in moving the stress out and clearing the way for balance and peace.
This can be anything from formal writing – perhaps guided by prompts,
to the very informal, free-flowing stream of consciousness writing.
(Remember, this is for you. It never needs to be shared. It’s not subject to anyone’s approval and certainly isn’t going to be graded)
What is suggested is that the tool be used to STEP INTO
emotions, experiences, repetitive thoughts…
and WALK THROUGH to the other side,
And be concluded WITH a GRATITUDE practice.
The work of writing brings replenishment even when dealing with painful subjects or overwhelming problems.
Many times the only open path through suffering is immersion.
Difficulty then,
whether in life,
or in understanding or in expression
is not a hindrance
when we seek to engage it.
Immersion
… intentional, deep engagement…
is opportunity and forward movement and a growing into one’s self.
Using writing {art} as an immersive experience to enter & engage our “suffering”
Opens a path through and to
the other side.
Bringing release, relief, clarity,
and the space for joy.

It is easy to get trapped within the emotions of our own personal suffering –
disappointment, loneliness, despair, anger, sadness, fear, guilt, anxiety…
The challenge is go deeper than the depths of that well of emotions,
to push beyond the discomfort of ego,
to step into the space of love.
This love is always there, within you.
It never leaves you.
it’s simply that we forget to call upon it, push it aside, or choose to ignore it.
Interestingly,
allowing the grace of love to fill you…
allowing it to displace and transmute the suffering,
Is often more frightening than grasping tightly to the “lesser energies”.
Still more challenging is gazing upon others, who we feel have caused us harm, with eyes of love and compassion.
When we place ourselves in “love” with another, we bring them into our “field of grace”.
By doing so we ‘see’ the field of grace around them, and stand together in Divine light.
This changes everything.
Observe what happens
when you put the following “thought guidance” into practice
… into action like a mantra…
with others and with yourself?
“If what affects one affects all…
If I am the mirror and I am suffering,
then you must be suffering too.
I understand how you feel.
I am sending you love.”
Finally,
…the words of Mother Theresa fill me these past few days,
twisting and turning themselves into one simple phrase…
“People will be unkind,
Be kind anyway.”
What matters most is not what others do;
What matters most is the heart of you.

Private sessionss available.
For years, I have specialized in long distance readings via phone, Skype, or Zoom. So current social distancing is no problem for us.
There is still big, heavy energy that wants to keep us “contained”,
as 2020 pushes to the edges of its “dismantling” theme.
With this,
the shift that is to come within the next few weeks is also beginning to make itself know {felt}.
It can be challenging navigating within this teetering between the two.
As well as, within the back and forth between the
hope & relief versus dread & fear
of the ever present political scene.
Be aware of this as you go about the days.
Take as many moments as you need to pause and center,
moving forward with the intention of engaging only with those thoughts and emotions that support your personal and spiritual well-being.
Pay special attention to the affirmations and positive reinforcement that comes,
And
Outwardly acknowledge gratitude for things both big and small throughout the day.
