the fruit of the gods
{So much could be written about the apple. Far more than I will go into}

Honoring apple with a place at the feasting table welcomes, with gratitude, its abundance and magic into our lives, and enhances our spiritual and physical well being.

The APPLE, a symbol of the fall fruit harvest, figures significantly in many sacred traditions.
Apple is “The tree of knowledge”
It is a symbol
of a long-life, life itself, and immortality,
of health and healing,
of renewal, regeneration and wholeness,
and of happiness and abundance.

The Apple tree has long been associated with the Fairie realms. It is said that fairies dancing within the spring blossoms release the flow of love, joy, ecstasy and abundance.

{Apple is also known as the “Fruit of the Underworld,” and some believe it to the be the fruit that binds Persephone to the Underworld during the Winter. Though it is the pomegranate that she holds dear. }

APPLE MAGIC
Apples are often involved in Mabon and Samhain celebrations.
During MABON, the mid-harvest festival, apples are left on altars overnight, and then placed into the ground as an offering to the Earth.
Samhain is a powerful time for apple divination
“Apple-Bobbing,” is a Samhain tradition that symbolizes Apollo’s “Quest for the Golden Apple,” in which he sent Andrei across the water to retrieve his three golden apples from the beast there – Rinosark.
Apples are exceptionally good for love, fertility and emotional magic.
The Apple is the fruit of Avalon, and much magic is said to be accessible through the wood of the tree and its fruit.
Staffs and wands made from apple wood are especially precious. They become more powerful the deeper the relationship between wand/ staff and “owner” becomes and is treated as a cherished companion.

Apple brings FOCUS, keeping our energy centered and close, assisting us in manifesting opportunity through choices made from a place of clarity.

In terms of magical herbs,
apple blossoms are wonderfully fragrant, and as such make good additions to love satchels, brews and incenses. Apple candles made with infused melted pink wax are often used at hand-fastings, as a symbol of eternal and immortal love.
Due to apples being strongly associated with love, there are a copious amount of love spells created using apples.

Its MAGIC within:
Cut an apple width way and it reveals a pentagram containing seeds.
The PENTAGRAM is a beautiful, powerful, much revered symbol by those connected to the ancient ways.

the ELEMENTS

• Earth, Air, Fire, and Water with SPIRIT at the top,
  as well,
  the DIRECTIONS
• East, South, West, North along with “WITHIN”.
  A circle around the pentagram represents
  The ETERNAL CIRCLE – the cycle of life, wholeness and nature.
  In ritual and ceremony, the pentacle corresponds to the element of Earth.
  It is believed to be a protection against evil for both the person and the home.
  Worn as an amulet, it offers protection to its wearer while enhancing personal magic.
  Within the home, it is used to guard entrances.
