The Clair Gifts
What are the Clair Gifts?
The main types of psychic abilities are what we call the clairs: clairaudience, clairvoyance, clairsentience, and claircognizance. These are some of the ways in which we receive intuitive guidance.
Professional intuitives tend to have multiple, highly attuned clair gifts. For example, I have hightened clairaudience, clairvoyance, clairsentience, and claircognizance sense. I utilize them as one gift, yet also individually.
Clairvoyance – clear seeing
Clairvoyance is an inner seeing.
Also known as/ associated with the third eye, psychic eye, psychic vision…
I describe it as watching a movie inside your head.
For some, these visions can be vivid, or can be premonitions.
For most, it is very subtle. Guidance coming to help navigate a moment or a situation.
You may just see a color, a number, face, or other image. You may or may not understand what these images mean. Learning to connect with the meaning takes practice. Like all intuitive interactions, these visions are many layered. The literal meaning often being the least important. Usually the “professional psychic” has more than clair gift – or uses other tools, such as tarot cards, to bring further clarity.
Clairsentience – clear feeling
Clairsentience is the ability to receive intuitive messages via feelings, emotions, or physical sensations. Empathy (feeling the emotions of others) is also a form of clairsentience.
Everyone has experiences this at times. For instance, we have all been “drained” or uplifted simply by being around certain people, or felt the energy of a room shift when a person or group of people enter.
Being clairsentient can leave you feeling exhausted, anxious, and overwhelmed. Whether you are at school or at work, you may feel drained or pick up on the moods of people around you. Whether someone is sad, angry, or ecstatic, you feel it. You may feel exhausted being around someone who is negative and it may be difficult for you to watch the news.
As a clairsentient, it may be very easy for you to know when someone is lying to you – you can just feel it somehow. And you may even feel the physical ailments of others, or overwhelmed and anxious about social gatherings.
It is also important to realize that, there is an energy of “the collective”. The energy that each individual, along with societal events and earth shifts feed into this sort of bubble of energy that surrounds the planet. Many professional psychic – myself included, can read world events through this collective energy.
It takes practice to discern what you are feeling and where it is coming from.
Clairaudience – clear hearing
Clairaudience is an inner hearing, a way of receiving intuitive messages without using the physical ears. It also known as your inner voice.
Again, we have all had at least a few experiences with that inner voice. For example, driving along and you may suddenly hear that little voice inside you say, “go right!” or “stop!”. Hearing a little whisper that says, “Call your mom”.
When a highly sensitive person – such as a psychic or medium – is clairaudient, they are able to hear things that others cannot, such as spirit voices, sounds, and even music. They can hear words, phrases, and names from those who have passed on.
Claircognizance – clear knowing
Claircognizance is inner knowing. The ability to just know something without logic or facts.
An important extrasensory perception, it is what lets you know you know that you shouldn’t trust your new neighbor or get on that airplane, but you can not explain why.
These claircognizant feelings can be very strong. They can also come in the form of intuitive thoughts that can pop into your head at random, or a strong physical response. Intensifying other clair senses in a sudden way, which is not necessarily “normal” for the individual.
There is also clairalience – clear smelling, and clairgustance – clear tasting. These are less common.
I do experience both of these. Clairalience happens pretty regularly. For instance, smells like cigarette smoke, perfume, or flowers are quite common when when the spirit of a deceased person is around. Not as much when “in session”, but quite often when a spirit is making their presence known – such as when connected to a property.
I rarely {and honestly, thankfully} experience clairgustance. An example would be tasting blood in connection to how someone died.
