{Winter Solstice ~ post 4}

Happy Winter Solstice!
Today is the nature’s New Year’s Eve.

Be very clear with your energy today,
maintaining an elevated and positive attitude.
The kind of energy you would like to carry with you as you move forward.

Practice sending the gift of “peace” to the world,
and to those with whom you are experiencing conflict,
Send the gift of Love to all those you encounter,
through positive and joyful exchanges.

Do this in the “small moments” of the day…
a smile for all,
a thought of “peace” for those who need it most
– the drama creators, the angry, mean, or “difficult” ones…
those such as the person who cut you off in traffic;
simple acts of kindness
As they say,
“Don’t sweat the small stuff”, and really almost all of it is small stuff.

On this night,
the longest night of the year,
it is a wonderful time to celebrate and usher in the light through meditation and/or ritual.
Do this alone or in a group
around a fire outside or a candle inside.

Be sure to light lots of candles in your space, throughout the night,
to symbolize the welcoming of the light and the purity… the clean slate… you wish to take into the new year.

You may decide to do a ritual tonight, and a sunrise meditation tomorrow morning,
or
If you do not want to do a formal meditation or ritual,
Simply taking some time to reflect, or gathering together with like-minded souls in the spirit of celebrating the joy of life, will be very beneficial.

{NOTE: if you are planning on meditating or doing a ritual with a group, be sure that all involved hold this as a sacred act. It is important that every individual feels safe, respected and supported. This will allow each person to let down their guard and to be vulnerable, in order to move out and let go of any emotions which need to come forward – and to allow the love and light of healing and renewal to move in.}

IN PREPARATION:
* Cleanse your space
Smudge your home – both inside and outside. Clearing any negative, stale or stagnant energy, cleansing away the old, and renewing by filling it with love and light.

* Call in your angels and guides
Settle your energy. Envision yourself surrounded in the Divine Light coming from above. See yourself grounded into the earth. Open your heart. Ask your Angels and guides to be close.

* Create something…
Bake, paint a moon picture, make a moon crown with the kids or a rosemary crown for yourself, decorate a tree outside, write a few letters of gratitude…

* Set intentions
Think about what has transpired this year.
Be honest – but not critical,
about where you have shined
and where you fell short.
Be clear with what you want,
as well as what you are no longer willing to accept.
From there, you can determine your “resolutions” for the year ahead,
and what you want to bring forward with the light…

“I bring these forward
To shine long and bright
With truth, honor, love and light
They will outshine the night”

* Prayer
Be sure you end the day by sending out your prayers of forgiveness, love and gratitude.

* Pay attention
to feelings, symbolism, synchronicity…
This is the guidance that is unfolding for you.
