PACE the body
{body, spirit & mind}
Nourishment is not fulfilled through occasional pampering. True nourishment is the daily ritual which supports the health body, mind and spirit.
The stresses and dramas of 2019 have come to a head. From this point on we have already decided what will be carried over and what will not. {That doesn’t mean you can no longer choose to release… to let go and move on…}
The season of consumption and indulgence is ending. It is time to reconnect with personal health, with wellness and well-being.
Time to be mindful of what is consumed and how much.
Time to move the body.
Time to stabilize our energies.
To relax while awake. To recharge while resting.
Time to be still, to be quiet, to be reflective…
To be responsible to Spirit and to the journey of your spirit you need a healthy vessel
This week we are called to settle back into habits and routines that keep our body healthy and luminous Move steadily, maintaining your energy. Find the pace that works with your goals and your needs.
Pace is finding the healthy balance. A healthy balance is not necessarily a fixed thing from day to day. Some days we need more rest. Some days we need more fuel. Some days we have it in us to work late. Others we need to retire early and limit our interactions with others.
A healthy balance is also not extremes. Never having a drink, never eating dessert, never having a lazy day of doing nothing… A healthy balance, again, is recognized on a daily basis.
This week,
THINK
about your habits a– from healthy to unhealthy, their purpose and their consequences.
Think about your daily routine and how a few adjustments may better serve your productivity and more importantly your happiness.
Think, too, about winter’s pace. The pace of the season.
Strive to be connected and “in tune” with it.
LISTEN
* Start listening to your body. What is it telling you? Respect its needs. Answer the call.
* What serves your clarity and strength and what negatively impacts your energy and focus
BE INTENTIONAL
Consciously make decisions about what you are consuming or not consuming
Be aware of addictive energy modifiers like sugar, caffeine and alcohol consumption.
For instance, it’s fine to have a few cups of coffee a day. But if we are drinking coffee all day long and “can’t function without it” a change of habit is needed.
DRINK WATER
Seriously!
We are made of water. We run on water. We need water. Water increases health and energy. Its importance cannot be overstated.
WALK & STRETCH
The best two “exercise-y” things you can do to for your body.
If you do nothing else, do this. Both increase circulation and energy flow. Physical energy, as well as CHI
MEDITATE
15 minutes a day
Be still.
Be Quiet.
Close your eyes.
Focus on your breath as it is
Flowing in. Flowing out.
The chest rising and falling
If you think its hard. Ask yourself why.
Then be quiet, sit, and breathe.
BE KIND. BE GENTLE
Don’t speak poorly to yourself.
Don’t punish yourself.
No guilt or withholding pleasure.
This is not sustainable and certainly not a healthy, balanced state of being.
REMEMBER
Every moment is an opportunity to begin again Do the best we can with what we are given in each moment.
