QUICK CHECK IN
I was going to do a live stream, on Facebook yesterday, about navigating the strong emotions around this time through journaling but my days have been moved around and filled to the brim with add on sessions.
I still plan to do my next live stream soon – and may delve deeper into this concept.
In the meantime, there are lots of emotional “triggers” flying around. It’s better to address them, than to “stuff” them.
So honor any emotions that may be arising by letting them out in the healthiest way possible.
Write down what you are feeling – the good, the bad, the ugly…
Let it flow – stream of consciousness is great. (it doesn’t have to be well written.)
Make note of any other emotional reactions, as well as, as any physical reactions which arise.
Sit with these, rereading what you’ve written if you like.
Looking deeper – beneath surface for the true source of the emotion, allow yourself the opportunity to acknowledge and then let go.
The purpose is to weed through some of the overly reactive self,
allowing the clearer, more rational self to come forward.
Then take forward what you need, leaving what you don’t behind.
This is especially helpful when in conflict with another, as it allows us to be clear with our point of view,
And to present our “side” in a way that is more likely to be heard.
