I saw this in a meme recently:
“I understand now that I am not a mess but a deeply feeling person in a messy world. I explain that now when someone asks me why I cry so often,
“For the same reason I laugh so often – because I am paying attention.”

(To which I say:)
Then there are those who are a “hot mess”, regardless of the what’s happening in the world.

{Stick with me here}
Though the words in the meme are a lovely (and for many, a very true) sentiment,
The problem with these sorts of things
(and for instance the recently popular “HSP” – Highly Sensitive Person bandwagon) is often they become a blanket that allows for a continued lack of growth and accountability.
(Along with a certain sense of superiority)

There’s a difference between being
“highly sensitive” through intuition and focused personal growth and understanding,
AND
“highly sensitive” because of personal insecurities, being stuck in old wounds, and/or a need for constant coddling and attention.
The latter are those who will cling to anything which makes them feel justified, and look for any excuse to NOT change, allowing them to maintain the negative (often selfish) – ultimately harmful, behavior.

The punch line is…
No one gets away with NOT doing the work required for personal growth.

If you associate with being highly sensitive because you are highly intuitive, empathic, etc… then you must accept the great RESPONSIBILITY which comes with that.
(The minute we recognize this within ourselves, is the minute that responsibility begins.)

What is asked of us is
(not perfection but the intention to do our best with)
DISCIPLINE & DILIGENCE in:
* taking care of the health and well being of the physical body.
Making this a priority, as it is the vessel which carries the energetic body, and is the “antennae” through which our intuitive gifts manifest.
You will begin to notice that the “cleaner” you physically are, the more intuitively sensitive you become.
* creating a daily practice which allows for quiet connecting time.
Engaging you with your personal energy, spirit guides, and Source (The Divine, God…). Allowing for a deeper understanding of one’s self, and for clarity, healing, and guidance to come through.
* learning to ground and shield (create clear boundaries)
This helps us to have accountability for the energy we bring to each moment,
and helps us to “feel” without “taking on” (absorbing) the often draining energy of others, the collective, and planetary shifts.
* learning to be conciously aware of shifts in one’s own energy
in order to be able to “step back” – energetically,
and to determine “is this mine”
– accountability, ability to change the energy, ability to recognize a trigger, or a lesson which may be unfolding…,
or “Is this someone/ something else?”
– allowing for “space” to be made (reaffirming boundaries – see above), for guidance to come forward, for assistance or healing of another through awareness and/or by not being reactive…
* …and so much more that unfolds on an individual basis as you move more fully into the space of engaging with your own personal energy and “the work”

Stepping fully into acceptance of one’s true self is not easy. It requires great courage with the awareness that – regardless of intention, mistakes will be made because we are learning and we are human.

Those of us who are fully in this intuitive existence do not have a free pass. Though we are blessed with the gifts of perhaps being able to recognize and connect with guidance and guides more easily, we do not get any short cuts through life. Nor do we get to avoid the personal lessons of our individual incarnation.
In fact, at times it can be harder because we are, in a way, held to a higher standard, and, in a sense, the repercussions are stronger and swifter – especially when things happen because “we should know better.”

Stepping more fully into one’s gifts and true self does not free one from hard work and responsibility.
It does however, free us from much of the suffering that being “stuck” in the lower energy of the lower self (Ego dominated self) can bring.
Most importantly it opens the door
to a connection to others on a soul level,
a deep connection to The Divine Source
and a relationship with the “spirits of the light”…
to authentic Love,
to a sense of purpose,
to limitless possibilities…
to so much and so many gifts which are really beyond human words or even understanding until you decide to let it unfold for yourself.

So be “highly sensitive” and “pay attention” to this messy world.
Through a commitment to nurture your most authentic self through a HEART based life.

Be LOVE
Be LIGHT
Shine bright
…all things radiate from here.
