The full moon is Wednesday, May 10.
We may see a rising of old wounds or triggers…
adding unnecessary stress to an already chaotic time.
Rather than getting sucked into difficult energy, remember that the energy can be shifted into something positive and creative…
something renewing and healing.
With that, this is a good time to step into some inner reflection, growth and healing around old wounds and the inner child.
Here’s an excercise with The Wounded Inner Child.
We first see the world through the eyes of a little child,
that child remains with us throughout our lives – no matter how outwardly grown up we appear to become.
If our vulnerable child was hurt, abandoned, shamed, or neglected…
that child’s grief and anger lives on within us.
So many adults are still acting out the hurt, abandonment, shame, and neglect that they suffered as children.
We can sit with the inner child and do the work needed to move beyond that wounded self, and let the healing happen.
Close your eyes and go back to the home you grew up in.
Visualize the house itself.
Go closer. Look inside the window.
Find yourself in that house.
What do you see…
What do you see when you take a good look at your life as a child?
More importantly, what do you feel?
What is going on with you, and with your relationship with yourself and others within that house?
What gifts did you possess that others may have missed or diminished?
What expectations were placed upon you?
What burdens were you made to carry?
What made you sad?
What brought you hope?
Reflect on these things,
(Journaling is a great tool)
Consider what comforts you needed or wanted.
Put yourself in the role of caregiver and nurturer to the child within.
Then practice comforting the wounded child…
You are safe. You are loved. You are enough…
Giving the space for healing to begin.
*** Of course this is the beginnings of a deeper longer practice. Be vulnerable and honest with yourself. Let yourself be guided to that deeper place of “source” and healing.
