Today,
we are asked to begin making
SMALL ADJUSTMENTS.
With that,
PLANNING in a more tangible form,
Practicality, and
DISCIPLINE are supported.
Any extra effort put towards incorporating beneficial habits
into today’s routine
will be amplified more than usual, today and through the weekend.
Begin to
reinforce & incorporate
those habits which have either fallen by the wayside, or that you have been aspiring to begin.
…diet adjustments, exercise, chores, “business”…
Perhaps its time to put some things down on paper.
Such as
Creating a {flexible} schedule that gives form to your needs and intentions.
Or
A daily gratitude journal
PRACTICALITY comes in with the reminder that things do not need to be overdone in order to yield the best results.
BALANCE is what we should strive for.
EXAMPLES:
Personal spaces should be clean and taken care of. But
The house doesn’t have to be spotless every moment of every day. Homes are made to lived in. Office meant to be productive spaces.
(And creativity is often messy. Give space for that)
Or
There’s no need to say – no more dessert or favorite “bad for me” snacks – ever.
Rather reinforce healthy eating habits, while allowing for the occasional indulgences
…creating a list of alternatives that can be a regular replacement, and actually making them accessible will help you to stay in alignment with those intentions.
OR
“Exercise every day” translated into run 5 miles and lift weights and etc… every day is not a practical and balanced way of being.
Exercise takes many forms. The more balanced approach is to set reachable goals that are achievable, while not overwhelming.
So maybe, running 3x per week (or not at all), with yoga, swimming, and walking mixed in makes more sense.
(BTW the balance to exercise is rest, to work is play, to discipline is spontaneity and flexibility… Just sayin’)
Whatever it is that works for you and your unique needs and wishes,
give yourself permission to do.
Give the time
To be thoughtful and intentional.
Be flexible, knowing that
new habits take time to establish,
And
Sometimes things don’t fit the way we’d like them, too.
So,
Make plans, set intentions, and leave room for changes without attaching guilt or shame.
Figure out what works best for you and your own unique needs and goals.
Its about you and your life.
Making the most of it.
Living and enjoying it.
Its not a competition.
You do you!
