??? Welcome September & The Corn Moon ???
September has arrived and its heralding of the change of seasons begins in earnest.
The transition from summer to fall begins – the Autumnal Equinox being 9/23
Focusing on self care
– personal health and well being, and breaking free of the cycle of negativity and criticism is of utmost importance.
{ Be mindful of being overly critical of oneself and of others. }
It is the time of transition, and
a literal and metaphorical “Harvesting” for the seasons ahead.
Cleaning house.
Clearing away toxins, emotional stress, emotional and physical baggage.
Unplug…
Though many are already doing this to some degree, it may be necessary to further commit to unplugging and disengaging from societal dramas and media outlets.
Though it is NOT advisable to stick your head in the sand and pretend the world does not exist,
It IS advised to commit to at least one day – Sundays for instance, when access to the noise, influence, and interference of the outside world is shut off or, at least, strictly limited.
This month,
Be more guarded about what you are ingesting – be it media, drama, overly processed foods, harmful actions, negative people, or negative thoughts
Be more mindful of the consumption of images or writings that diminish the ability to fully embrace joy.
That leave you anxious, concerned, upset or off balance in any way.
… “Waiting for the other shoe to drop”…
This seems virtually impossible to do these days, I know.
Especially if one is to stay informed, accountable, and engaged.
The practice is in attempting to be informed without taking things too personally.
To be present enough to engage but not so emotionally invested that we become lost.
Again, I know this can seem an impossible task. Some days will certainly be more challenging than others.
Instead of becoming overwhelmed by lower level energies
– which block/cloud and drain body, mind & spirit…
When you feel vulnerable, angry, “terrorized” by the state of the unfoldings in the world
strive to actively practice gratitude.
Ideally we catch ourselves in the moment and switch gears.
Realistically we take the time to reflect and insert gratitude whenever we remember to do so.
Often this is best achieved at the beginning and end of the day.
Creating a routine.
The suggestion is a practice of gratitude
for the ordinary moments
of beauty, comfort, quiet, peace, rest, humor, or otherwise “normal” simplicity of life
that unfold throughout the day.
Knowing that each day does not necessarily qualify as extraordinary, per se, or have within it extraordinary moments.
This gratitude for the simple gifts within the day is perfection.
For really (most times) when life is missed
it is the ability to see the beauty within the ordinary moments that we are longing for.
And, for the most part,
These are the moments that consistently define our lives.
The choices we are asked to make are
which moments to linger in and
what moments to be grateful for
– if we are going to choose gratitude or if we choose lacking, drama, fear…
Whatever moments we choose will dictate the mood of the day.
Self care.
Balance.
Intentional (media free) days of peace and rest.
Avoiding excessive criticism and negativity.
Consciously choosing gratitude.
Harvesting for the days ahead.

This “journey” specifically unfolding from the dark moon phase

…with it, a rising intensity, revelation, and reclaiming…
